Greetings from Green Spirit Healthy Living!

The “Age of Stupid”? I attended the global premiere of this film last week as it was played simultaneously in over 450 theaters in 63 countries around the world. It brought up a lot of great points relating to what we need to wake up and do in order to prevent global warming catastrophes ~ and hence, not be known in the future as the “Age of Stupid”. Very timely advice as the Kyoto treaty is expiring and global leaders are meeting this December in Copenhagen to work out a new treaty. The time is now for everyone to work together to solve the most pressing problem of our time and our leaders need to hear your voice. If you’re not sure how to contact your senator, this video shows you just how easy it is to do.

The biggest disappointment I had in the film though was that it barely touched on the importance of our diet in reducing our carbon footprint. The most effective way to fight global warming is to go vegetarian. Did you know that eating 1 lb. of meat emits the same amount of greenhouse gases as driving an SUV 40 miles? Read more fascinating information here. And even better than going vegetarian is to add as much locally grown and raw food to your diet!
