Green Spirit was established in the spring of 2008 as a meal plan service for a select group of clients seeking a healthier and more balanced life. What began as one woman bringing prepared lunches to friends, has grown in both size and scope in the ensuing years.
The 2011 opening of our Rogers Park storefront presented an opportunity to showcase our holistic approach to green living. Green. A term so ubiquitous it has all but lost its meaning. At Green Spirit, a sense of ecological stewardship informs each choice we make. From the paint on the walls to keeping the lights on. From composting to our reclaimed furniture. When we say green, we mean it.
We believe that eating well is not just about physical health; it’s about a shift in conciousness. A shift that encourages us to take better care of ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. Green Spirit’s mission – through sustenance, classes, and community events – it to bring this shift to as many people as possible.
